What the numbers say

Source: Province of British Columbia, Property Transfer Tax data. Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence - British Columbia (OGL-BC).

British Columbia's Property Transfer Tax data: every recorded sale in each municipality, by month (Province of British Columbia, Open Government Licence - British Columbia). Prices are the fair market value of the homes sold, so they change with the mix of homes sold that month; the 12-month figures are steadier. Small towns have few sales, so their numbers can jump from month to month. Rural areas outside municipalities are not listed.

Statistics for information and education only — not real estate, financial or investment advice. Figures are monthly or yearly averages for a whole metro area; a single home or neighbourhood can differ a lot.
